Под "держать оружие с выстовленым локтем" Вы подразумеваете термин "ChickenWing" (http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh284/CTone03/Guns%20in%20movies/Dead%20Presidents/M3ChickenWing.jpg)? Если да, то на счет "больший шанс что в тебя попадут" Вы ошибаетесь. Силуэт такая ошибка увеличивает незначительно и только с фронтального ракурса. Действительная же проблема ChickenWing в том, что такое положение руки не дает по нормальному вложится в приклад (ключица приподнята) и контролировать "подброс" при стрельбе (биомеханика говорит нам, что рычаг направлен не в ту сторону). Но, есть нюансы, например травмы ключицы и предплечья и боли в суставах, не позволяющие соблюдать правильные стойки, особенно при стрельбе с частыми переносами по фронту, что наглядно показывают некоторые фотографии профессиональных стрелков-спортсменов и военных.
Кстати, а какая фото стала причиной Вашего замечания?

Это специфический вариант хвата цевья левой рукой (практически это не удержание цевья снизу, а обхват цевья) ... как правило заточен под магпуловскую ручку Angled Fore Grip

Как уже заметил Sinoptik это специфический хват цевья, являющийся частью техники стрельбы из М16 разработанной во время войны во Вьетнаме и на долгое время незаслуженно забытой (благодаря уходу от классического трехгранного цевья). Техника не смотря на моё отношение к P.R. Магпул Дайнемикс ИМХО не плохо подходит для стрельбы из винтовок серии AR15/M16 со стволом от 18", особенно при необходимости манипуляции тактическими осветителями, закрепленными на цевье.

Такой хват немного более прост с психофизиологической точки зрения. Не в том смысле что плох, а в том что выполняется на более низких уровнях построения движения, ближе к рефлексам. Это по структуре построения есть разновидность указывающего жеста, одного из первых осваиваемых ребенком. Получается проще, естественней как шпажный укол несколько проще боксерского правого сбоку, хотя в основе одно и то же движение и поза тоже одна . Кому интересно у Н.А. Бернштейна можно почитать что и как. Вообще сейчас многие "продвинутые" боевые навыки стараются формировать из наиболее простых и примитивных элементов, которые ближе к рефлексам. Это не только в стрельбе. В рукопашке давно тенденция такая.
В то же время отмечу что никакие тесты не выявят преимущества такого хвата над "традиционным" при достаточно репрезентативной выборке, это стилевая особенность не более того.

After four months of building in secret, “Bam Bam”, the Rallye Mog has landed safely via air freight in Europe.

Bam Bam was built by Jay Couch of Couch Off Road Engineering, (the guy responsible for the Magpul MBUS Mog build) and started life as a standard Mercedes Benz 1985 U1700 Unimog. They added a USA Cummings 24 valve turbo diesel as the powerplant. According the Magpul, “The power is turned up so much that the custom intercooler is the size of a small bed!”

Even the engine starter was pneumatically plumbed to prevent water from entering.”

А чего такого-то? Вон Петров используя ту же практически технику из АПСа очередью магазин в грудную мишень на 25 метров укладывает...
