Airsoft Innovations has released a new product since we reviewed the TORNADO gas grenade. The new product is the Distraction Device Kit, which is an add-on to the TORNADO. It can be purchased online from Airsoft Innovations’ store at GunGas.com. (Continued)

Many people transition to sidearms when getting into close quarters, since most guns nowadays shoot pretty hot. Now, other people bring up the fact that doing it for safety’s sake is a little weird since modern gas pistols actually shoot at least as hard as most electric rifles nowadays.
We all know that .12g BBs have lousy accuracy at range. But let’s assume you’re expecting close-quarters fighting. Would .12g BBs from the same gun hurt less than heavier ammo if you got hit?
I think it would, and here is why.

Over at Airsoft Canada (and now also Arnie’s Airsoft forums) I had - in the Halloween spirit - started the first annual IZSC (Internet Zombie Shooting Competition)! I think it was a fun success. Here’s how it worked.
If you have an Airsoft pistol, a printer, and somewhere to safely shoot, you are ready! (Continued)

We’re Back Open!
Orders and inquiries made after Monday September 15th will be processed when we re-open on the 29th. Orders made before then will be shipped as normal. (In other words, if you want to place an order, get it in before the 15th, or it will have to wait until we return.)
The Good News: When we return I will have some exiting news about the Trigger Master for you all! Stay tuned!

I have recently been asked about using the Trigger Master to implement a “dual trigger” system, such as could be used in a custom trigger setup to get functionality similar to a P90 (where pulling the trigger shoots in SEMI, and pulling it further back fires in FULL) or an MG34 (where the top part of the large trigger shoots in SEMI, and pulling the bottom of the trigger fires in FULL.)
Here is how to wire the Trigger Master so that pulling the trigger fires in SEMI and a separate switch activates FULL.

I have been busy with development, and want to thank everyone who has been interested in the Trigger Master!
I want to share what’s been on my drawing board. It won’t appeal to everyone, but I wanted to give something a little special to those of us who prefer to use guns in a Sniper/DM role.

For some time prior to its release, Airsoft Innovations has held people’s attention with news and videos of their upcoming Tornado gas grenade. Now the wait is over, and if you want to know how it fares in tests and in the field, you’re at the right place! (Dec 2008 - Check out our review of the Distraction Device Add-on for the TORNADO.) A high-power LED (and not much else!) is used in this project to provide a muzzle-flash effect for an electric Airsoft gun. It’s an extremely simple mod that can add a dramatic effect to firing, especially in darkened or indoor areas.
This is an experimental project; it is very simple but like any project found around here or elsewhere, attempt it at your own risk. That being said, it has been working fine for me so far! (Continued)

Here’s a roundup of all the tech bits and resources currently available for the Trigger Master AEG Fire Control Units which are made and sold right here!

A Trigger Master is modded to fire only 30 rounds from a magazine before requiring a mag change to “reload”. With this mod, a couple highcaps can simulate an endless number of 30-round magazines! As an added feature, the gun will not fire unless a mag is inserted, and tactical reloads (reloading before a mag is ‘empty’) are possible. DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY MODIFICATION OF MAGAZINES.

Two things are demonstrated here: using the Trigger Master to reduce RoF (motor speed), and make 2-round bursts (instead of the default 3-round burst).

This is just for fun - I simulated AEG Jamming by installing a switch and modifying the programming in a Trigger Master.

This is some information on installing a Trigger Master into a Tokyo Marui AK-47. (Technically, a version 3 gearbox.)

This is an example of installation into a Tokyo Marui M4. (Technically, a front-wired Version 2 mechbox)
Your installation doesn’t have to be the same as this - this is an example. Feel free to make your own approach and use your own method.

The Trigger Master is not just for giving your AEG 3-round bursts! It does a lot more than that under the hood, and it’s capable of even more. It’s a fully computer controlled electronic fire control system for your AEG which has capabilities miles beyond the dumb switch your gun comes with.
This tutorial will tell you all you need to know to start modifying the programming of these great units to add or tweak your own features!

NOTE: This page refers to Trigger Masters sold before September 15th, 2008. For units purchased after that date, visit the Products and Support page.

100% assembled and serviced in Canada. Custom programming for custom features available. We ship internationally!
The Trigger Master is the best way to get effective 3-round burst functionality from your AEG! And it’s capable of much, much more - fully computer controller fire control for your AEG is a reality!

Ever wonder how to tie a shemagh properly? The shemagh is a useful piece of clothing for outdoors use in both hot and cold weather. It finds its way into gear as well, so you might as well learn how to tie it!

This isn’t Airsoft related, except for the fact that a cheap airsoft AK was used as the housing for the AK.
The video pretty much shows/explains it all.

This is a method of running an enjoyable game for two even-numbered teams that allows for dynamic and emergent play, but requires very little (if any) administration or refereeing. I try many different things with our group, and this one is definitely a success.

This simple DIY solution to illuminating tracer BBs works great and uses very few parts, but does require some careful cutting and fitting.
Everything is contained inside a locap magazine - no modifications are made to the gun whatsoever. The magazine can turn the tracer effect on or off at will, so you can fire without revealing your position if you need to.

This is kind of fun. It doesn’t work for EVERYTHING, but it can spice up the right game.
The idea is that the medic is usually a referee or a game admin. They carry a medic bag containing various tape, bandages, and disposable earplugs. Players that are “hit” receive medical attention in the form of a random or semi-random wound, which is simulated in a way that actually causes a handicap to the player’s gameplay. Read on for more details.

I know of only three ways to get yourself a Dragunov in Airsoft: the G&P version, the PDI version, and making one from a conversion kit and an AK-47. Depending on your particular pickiness, your choices may drop to two, or even none. (UPDATE: Actually you can also get the AtoZ Spring SVD.) (Continued)
I repackaged two “super-ear” hearing amplifiers into a pair of hearing protectors to allow for stereo amplified hearing in a form factor usable in the bush.
Unfortunately it both worked better and worse than I hoped.
