Army Bands do more than just march in parades, we do much more. We play music of all kinds, from big band, jazz, country, and rock to classical and concert pieces. We have played with some of America's most beloved entertainers, from Bob Hope and Marilyn Monroe, to Jay Leno and Vanessa Williams. Army bands are always on the move. Sometimes playing for a military ceremony in the morning, a concert in the park in the afternoon and a dance later in the evening. Ceremonial Band


The Ceremonial Band is the most versatile unit of the Band. It comprises all of the soldiers in the band and is the most often used group of the 40th. We regularly provide music for military activities, including reviews, retirements, change of commands and promotional ceremonies. This is in addition to the numerous parades, and patriotic ceremonies that we perform in each year.

The 40th Infantry Division Ceremonial Band continually provides musical support to the soldiers of the 40th Infantry Division and the National Guard as well as the citizens of California. The band has proudly represented the Sunburst Division at such events as the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, the Hollywood Christmas Parade, the Olympic Games in Los Angeles and many other events in the western United States.

Concert Band
The Concert Band is the premier unit of the 40th Infantry Division Band. This renown group has performed at concert halls, venues, and events throughout the United States and the South Pacific. Its outstanding program includes a diverse selection of familiar marches, overtures, instrumental solos, classical transcriptions, and patriotic favorites. Through its program, the band continues the Sousa tradition of thrilling their audiences with spectacular displays of musical virtuosity and artistry.



The concert band consists of all the members of the band. Throughout its world class performances, the concert band has continually shown its dedication to musical excellence under the direction of our commander, CW2 Suganuma. The concert band enjoys promoting patriotism and the American way of life, through its lively program, and will continue this tradition well into the twenty-first century.

Stage Band
The Stage Band performs a variety of exciting sounds of the "Big Band" era and contemporary jazz. From selections of music from orchestras such as, Glen Miller and Duke Ellington, to the chart toppers of Benny Goodman Tommy Dorsey, and Count Basie. The stage band rounds out its jazz repertoire with pieces by artists such as Rob McConnell and Sammy Nestico. The band's versatility is demonstrated in the variety of charts that it has assembled. The group has toured throughout the western U.S. and its popularity and demand has increased as they perform at banquets, concerts in the park, and other civic functions.

Latin/Jazz Combo
The Latin Combo is an ensemble that has the flexibility to perform in a wide variety of settings, including large music festivals, intimate social and cultural functions, and colleges and schools. This dynamic group performs a wide variety of music, including Salsa, Latin Jazz, traditional Jazz, and contemporary sounds.

Show Band
The Pop Combo meets the demand for classic Rock and Roll, R&B, Motown, Country, and Funk, as well as the Top 40 sounds of today. The Pop Combo is dedicated in supporting the National Guard's recruiting and community relations efforts by entertaining audiences around the west, and has become a favorite at both civilian and military functions. Whether they are performing at a community concert, or in the field entertaining the troops, this high energy group is always ready to meet the demands of both younger audiences, and the young at heart.

Dixieland Band
The Dixieland Band captures the sounds and feeling of New Orleans Jazz. Performing works of Dixieland and ragtime jazz, the Dixieland Band plays such favorites as, When the Saints and Saint Louis Blues, by noted artists such as Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, and Sidney Bechet. The Dixieland Band has performed at various festivals and concerts as well as for soldiers in the field.

Rock Band - The DBs

The Rock Band meets the demand of modern rock. Dedicated to providing support for recruiting and community relation efforts, the group is a favorite at civilian and military functions. This high energy group is always in demand with both younger audiences and the young at heart.

Brass Ensemble
The Brass Ensemble features the brilliance of brass instruments. Their repertoire ranges from selections of Bach and Handel, to performing selections from the Canadian Brass. This diversity enables the Brass Quintet to perform for ceremonies where chamber music is appropriate, or for playing for small official functions. Whatever the case, the Brass Ensemble adds an air of dignity to any occasion.

Woodwind Ensemble
They cover a diverse repertoire from early Renaissance to modern styles. The Woodwind Ensemble tailors it performance to each audience, incorporating a unique ability to select the music that will educate and entertain the audience.
This versatile group provides music for formal settings as well as music for social gatherings and educational performances. Whether the need is a concert, ceremony, inspiration at Christmas, or music for a dedication, the Woodwind Ensemble adds just the right touch to make your event complete.

Pictured here, soldiers from the U.S. Army First Battalion, 26th Infantry take defensive positions after receiving fire from Taliban snipers in the Korengal Valley of Afghanistan. Spc. Zachery Boyd was woken up by the gunfire and rushed from his bed to join his fellow platoon members without stopping to pull pants on over his "I ♥ NY" boxers.

As the picture made its way on to front pages around the U.S., Boyd was at first concerned he would be disciplined for being out of battle dress, but even Defense Secretary Robert Gates was moved to commend his courage. "The next time I visit Afghanistan, I want to meet Specialist Boyd and shake his hand." said Gates. "Any soldier who goes into battle against the Taliban in pink boxers and flip-flops has a special kind of courage!"

The soldiers next to Boyd are Spcs. Cecil Montgomery of Louisiana and Jordan Custer of Spokane, Wash. Spc. Custer is also out of battle dress with no socks and silver running shoes.

Итак, леди и джентельмены, план мероприятия на дивизионные учения "Апрель 2010"
Цель: "Повышение боеготовности путём отработки совместных действий между команд и внутри команд 40th ID"
Дата проведения, как и сообщалась ранее, 17-18 апреля.
Явка всей 40th ID в максимально полном составе, с собой иметь максимально полное снаряжние, экипировку, вооружение, продукты питания на 2 дня, тёплые вещи на ночное время суток, каримат и спальные мешок. Брать ли палатки, или будет одна общяя, будет сообщено позже.
Итак...
9.00 сбор у Гренадёра
10.00 заезд на полигон, подгонка снаряжение, экипирование.
10.30 Разбитие лагеря.
11.00 построение
11.30 - 12.00 укомплектование взводов, отделение, разбивка на фаертимы (fireteam)
12.00 - 15.00 Первая часть полевых занятий.
15.00 - 15.30 Обед
15.45 построение
16.00 - 21.00 Вторая часть полевых занятий
21.00 - 22.00 Ужин + отдых 30 минут
22.00 Распределение караулов и патрулей, задания разведке.
24.00 Финальное построение первого дня, долгожданный отбой

8.00 Подъём, построение
9.00 Завтрак
9.45 - 11.00 Инженерные работы
11.00 - 14.00 Отработка полученных навыков боевыми действиями.
14.00 Финальное построение
После - пикник

Я отписался Спириту . Спасибо за предложуху, приехать не смог тк мне сообщили о субботней вылазке в последний момент (форум читаю не особо внимательно). С удовольствием поеду на следующие суточные сборы (или не суточные).

через неделю будет оформляться заказ в США на привоз оттуда комплектов нашивок, и Dog Tags, кому надо. Кого интересует - присоединяйтесь, вместе везти дешевле.
По ценам:
Реверс флаг + нашивка "US ARMY" + name + звание (4 нашивки) = 16 уе
Для пехоты, нашивка боевой пехоты 3 уе.

dog tags 13.5 уе. с набивкой того, чего захотите, в комплекте 2 догтага, две цепочки (большая и маленькая) и 2 резиновых обвода
по доставке, всё зависит от кличества людей, думаю диапозон будет от 5 до 10 уе.
